Terms & conditions
The terms that apply to quotes, bookings and work carried out by Appleby Electric.
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms apply to any quote, booking or work carried out by Appleby Plumbing & Electrical Services Limited (trading as Appleby Electric, 'we', 'us'). By asking us to carry out work, you accept these terms. They sit alongside, and don't replace, your statutory rights.
Quotes
Quotes are based on the information and access available to us at survey stage. If the scope of work changes once we start, for example an unexpected issue is found behind a wall or in a consumer unit, we will discuss it with you and agree any change in price before carrying it out. Unless a quote states otherwise, it is valid for 30 days from the date it is given.
Booking and access
A job is booked once a date is agreed between us. We ask that reasonable access to the property and the relevant electrical installation is available at the agreed time; if access isn’t possible, we may need to rearrange, which can affect the date the work is completed.
Your right to cancel
If you agreed to the work somewhere other than our business premises, for example in your home, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to it, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you ask us to start work within that 14-day period, you may lose the right to cancel once the work has begun or been completed, which we will make clear to you before starting. This right does not affect your other statutory rights.
Payment
Payment terms will be confirmed on your quote or invoice. Please raise any query about an invoice with us promptly so it can be resolved.
Certification and compliance
Work is carried out to NICEIC standards and, where applicable, MCS certification standards. Certificates and any required documentation are provided on completion of the relevant work.
Guarantee and workmanship
All work is insured and guaranteed. If something covered by our guarantee goes wrong, contact us and we will put it right. This is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights, or any separate manufacturer’s warranty on equipment we install.
Liability and insurance
We carry insurance appropriate to the work we do. We are liable for loss or damage caused by our negligence, but not for pre-existing faults or issues outside the scope of the agreed work, or for matters beyond our reasonable control.
Complaints
If something isn’t right, contact us using the details on our Contact page and we’ll aim to resolve it directly and promptly. We take every complaint seriously.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
