Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and what rights you have.
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Appleby Plumbing & Electrical Services Limited (trading as Appleby Electric, 'we', 'us') respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you contact us or use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Appleby Plumbing & Electrical Services Limited, 24 Lowry Close, Wellingborough, Northants, NN8 4UY. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
- Phone: 01933 697 231
- Mobile: 07879 553 063

What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work.
- Your name and contact details (phone number, email address)
- Your postcode or address, where you provide it
- Details of the job or enquiry, including anything you tell us in the quote assistant or a contact form
- Photos you choose to upload of a fault, installation or property
- Basic technical information such as browser type, generated automatically by visiting the site
How we collect it
Directly from you, when you use the quote assistant or a form on this site, call or email us, or speak to us in person. We do not buy or acquire your data from third parties.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote — with your consent, given when you submit a form
- To carry out work you have agreed to — necessary to perform that contract
- To keep records required for insurance, accounting or legal purposes — a legal obligation
- To improve how this website works — our legitimate interest, kept to a minimum and never used for profiling or automated decisions
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. It is shared only where necessary to run the business: with the email service that delivers enquiry forms to us, and, where relevant, with subcontractors or suppliers directly involved in carrying out agreed work. We do not share your data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if the enquiry doesn’t proceed, for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Records relating to completed work are kept for as long as required for insurance, warranty and accounting purposes, in line with our legal obligations.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data
- Object to us using your data for certain purposes
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If you choose to adjust the accessibility options on this site (text size, contrast, motion or link underlines), that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so it applies on your next visit. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is used for no purpose other than remembering that preference.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the way we collect or use data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
